We are looking for a Senior Social Worker to join our Child Development Service. In this role you will apply knowledge and skills in assessment as part of a team to support diagnostic and complex multidisciplinary developmental clinics and provide targeted interventions to empower families to understand and promote their child's development.• Permanent, flexible part-time (45.6 hours per fortnight)• Preferred days of work are Tuesday, Wednesday, ThursdayThis role may be eligible for the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive. See link – Queensland Health Workforce Attraction SchemeThe Senior Social Worker will take a leadership role working collaboratively in the context of a multidisciplinary Child Development Service team to provide integrated, inter-professional paediatric services to children and their families in a community setting. There is a requirement to deliver high quality social work services through the provision of psychosocial assessment and evidence-based Social Work services to optimise improved health and developmental outcomes for children and their families.All WHS Social Work staff are required to participate in the Ipswich Hospital Social Work On Call roster.About youOur ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:Demonstrated high level expertise and skills in delivering assessment, intervention and independent decision making reflecting evidence informed interventions to families and children within the Child Development Service.Demonstrated high level of professional leadership in the delivery of a complex caseload across clinical areas within a multidisciplinary environment whilst exercising a high degree of independence and professional decision making.Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills in providing multidisciplinary care in a complex environment including psychosocial assessments, correspondence requiring escalation and management of clinical documentation and clinical reports of client health information.Providing a high level of clinical leadership in the supervision and development of staff including supporting effective and highly accountable social work practice and active ongoing professional development.Providing high quality Social Work advice to assist transdisciplinary care for children and their families within a philosophy of family centred practice.Mandatory Requirements:Appointment to this position requires maintenance of eligibility for membership of the AASW and adherence with the AASW Code of Ethics, AASW Practice Standards and AASW Continuing Professional Development Requirements.Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.About West Moreton HealthWest Moreton Health is one of the most rapidly evolving health services in the south east corner, with a community growth expected to almost double to more than 588,000 by 2036.
