About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in individual, trust, company, and SMSF (Self-Managed Superannuation Fund) tax, with specialized expertise in handling investment property tax matters.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax regulations and delivering value-driven tax advice to clients across a diverse range of industries, including SMSFs and property investment.
Key Responsibilities: Individual, Trust, and Company TaxationPrepare and lodge tax returns for individuals, trusts, and companies, ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws.Advise clients on tax planning strategies, including trust distributions, company tax, and tailored approaches for minimization.Assist in the implementation of tax-effective structures for businesses and investments.Investment Property TaxProvide expert advice on investment property tax issues, including depreciation schedules, negative gearing, and capital gains tax (CGT).Prepare detailed reports on property-related income, expenses, and deductions to ensure accurate tax treatment.Identify and implement tax-minimization strategies specific to property investments.SMSF TaxationPrepare and lodge complex SMSF tax returns for a diverse client base, adhering to ATO guidelines and SMSF-specific regulations.Analyse and interpret SMSF financial statements and transactions to ensure tax accuracy.Provide clear and timely advice to clients on SMSF tax planning, compliance, and legislation.Collaborate with the team to support SMSF users with seamless service and guidance.Tax Compliance and AdvisoryConduct tax audits and liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on behalf of clients.Keep up-to-date with tax legislation changes, especially those affecting SMSFs, investment properties, and corporate structures.Proactively advise clients on tax planning to maximize their financial benefits while ensuring compliance.Client Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored, professional advice.Address client inquiries promptly and professionally, providing exceptional service across all engagements.Qualifications and Skills: Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA, CA, or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and tax software (e.g., Tax Agent software).Strong understanding of Australian tax laws and regulations, particularly in SMSFs, property investment, and corporate taxation.Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple clients and deadlines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a simple, understandable way.Why Join Us?
