Tasmanian Quality Meats, the leading provider of high-quality lamb and sheep products in Tasmania and Australia, is seeking a new department leader to join our successful team.Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and motivated Supervisor to join our team at Tasmanian Quality Meats. As the Slaughter Floor Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the department, ensuring efficient production processes and achieving set business goals. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Production Manager.Responsibilities:Supervise and lead a team of employees, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.Plan and organise daily operations in the department to ensure smooth workflow.Monitor production processes to meet quality standards and productivity targets.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation requirements.Collaborate with other departments such as Quality Assurance, Production, and Maintenance to optimize efficiency.Implement measures for cost control without compromising on product quality.Monitor equipment performance in the area and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.Skills:Strong leadership abilities with experience in supervising a team in a manufacturing environment preferred.Knowledge of meat processing procedures specifically related to sheep, lamb, or calves.Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.Effective communication skills both written and verbal.Able to work well under pressure while maintaining accuracy.Qualifications:Qualification in Meat Processing or related field preferred.Proven experience working in a similar role within a manufacturing or abattoir environment.Knowledge of health & safety regulations pertaining to meat processing industry.How to Apply:If you are considering this position but are unsure of your suitability or have any questions, please contact the HR team for a confidential chat to learn more about the role.
