Join a dynamic industrial team as a Site Supervisor for Mechanical Breakdown and Repairs.
This role involves leading and coordinating mechanical repair teams, ensuring that repair activities are carried out efficiently and safely, and maintaining the highest quality standards.
With a critical focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity, the Site Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing maintenance operations within a steelwork's environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Supervision and Coordination: Lead a skilled team of fitters and technicians to perform emergency and scheduled repairs.
Coordinate daily tasks to prioritize and address urgent mechanical issues.
Maintenance and Repairs: Oversee the on-site diagnosis, resolution, and completion of mechanical repairs, keeping operations running smoothly and minimizing disruptions.
Safety Compliance: Uphold WHS standards, conduct safety checks, and enforce safe work practices across all repair activities.
Promptly report any safety concerns or incidents.
Task Scheduling and Planning: Organize repair work based on urgency, resource availability, and production schedules.
Work with production teams to plan downtime for maintenance.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of repairs, log maintenance activities, and provide regular status updates to management.
Quality Assurance: Review completed repairs to ensure they meet both company and industry standards.
Manage QA documentation and compliance with Australian safety and quality standards.
Team Development: Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members, fostering a collaborative, safety-first work environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education/Certifications: Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Fitting, or Fabrication.
Industry Experience: Mechanical maintenance within a heavy industrial environment and worked within a supervisory role.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanical systems (pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics), with hands-on experience in breakdown repairs.
Safety Expertise: Knowledge of WHS regulations and proven experience in implementing safety measures in an industrial setting.
Experience with steel industry equipment and processes.
Competency in maintenance software and MS Office.
Additional certifications (e.g., confined space, working at heights, EWP tickets).
