Full time, continuing Great opportunity to join the Library Services Team Base Salary $67K + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Library Site Resources Assistant supports students, staff and the community with effective access to the services and information resources of the University Library.
In this role, you will provide high quality assistance and respond to a range of basic and directional enquiries.
You will be involved in shelf stock control, picking books, print collections, digitising/scanning, collection moves, and a range of other activities as required.
Your key activities (working both autonomously and in a team setting) can include: assist clients with basic directional enquiries, showing them where to go and helping them locate items work with other staff members to provide scanning and collection retrieval support participate in the digitisation of items manual labouring in the processing, clearing and shelving of materials, including new material, material returned to the Library and left on desks shelf tidying and stocktaking projects, identifying space problems in the collections and assist with moves display familiarity and confidence in the use of technologies related to the work activities Flexibility is essential, with staff working across the various library locations and delivering service to support opening, closing and weekend hours.
The roles will work across campuses, including Camperdown/Darlington and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music campus.
The University Library reserves the right to transfer or rotate the location of this position to any of its Library sites based on workloads, professional development or business needs.
Experience of working in a library or learning support environment is desirable.
About you basic to moderate computer skills in word processing, excel spread sheets and web-based software experience contributing to a team, focusing on accomplishing team goals and supporting other team members great numeracy skills, and good written and verbal communication, to pitch at the right level initiative, self-management and problem-solving skills are required to be successful in the role valid working with children check (WWCC) Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This role requires valid work rights for Australia.
Pre-employment checks Your employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
Similarly, your ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements.
If you do not meet these conditions, the University may take any necessary step, including the termination of your employment.
This position is designated as involving child-related work.
