Site Reliability Engineer
The Opportunity: Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for an initial 12-month contract with scope for extension. This role is Melbourne-based and will require 3 days per week in the office.
The Role: This role offers a unique opportunity to define and drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns, improve incident response times, and support compliance and vulnerability management. We are looking for an experienced SRE with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, automation, and monitoring.
Your responsibilities will include:
Defining and driving Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns and automation approaches.
Practicing sustainable incident response using playbooks and automated recovery mechanisms.
Developing in-depth monitoring and alerting for production stacks.
Supporting compliance and vulnerability management for services, platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
Guiding infrastructure capacity planning and identifying cloud cost optimizations.
About You: In order to be successful in the role you will have demonstrated experience working as a DevOps Engineer/SRE within a large enterprise organisation, preferably within finance.
Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS/Azure)
Extensive experience working with Kubernetes & Helm charts (Terraform/Ansible) (Mandatory)
Hands-on coding experience with NodeJS, Python, and Unix; tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, Terraform, and Harness.
Proficiency with containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) and usage of Helm Charts.
Experience with log monitoring solutions (Splunk, OpenSearch, AppDynamics) and ITSM tools (ServiceNow).
Outstanding communication skills and a proven team player.
