Primary Purpose Reporting to the State Manager- Western Australia, the site engineer will be required to visit client sites in the greater Perth and Peel region, as well as regional sites and inter-state project sites to offer support for tendering and construction on new and existing projects.
The client focused Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of critical mechanical assets and infrastructure at the Alcoa mine site.
This role involves overseeing the design, maintenance, and optimisation of mechanical systems to maximize equipment uptime, enhance safety standards, and achieve production goals.
Responsibilities: Design, Installation & Commissioning of new remote water quality monitoring stations, components, products for manufacture, and plant and systems for construction.Installation & commissioning of various telemetry systems, organising and managing project labour and the delivery of materials, plant and equipment on site.Deployment of new IOT telemetry systems to upgrade outdated systems.Troubleshooting and diagnostic work of existing and new remote monitoring systems, inspection and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations.Scheduled maintenance of remote monitoring systems at various locations throughout the mine site catchment.Troubleshooting telemetry systems such as Radio, Cellular and IOT.Providing ad-hoc support from Client reported issues.Optimisation / repair works based on routine inspections.Proactive mindset to promote and recommend innovative upgrades and system optimisation.4x4 remote bush driving to reach various monitoring sites.Mechanical support to the Water Treatment Plants, establishing standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, and testing.Assist with breakdowns, repairs, and upgrade works at one of our WTP's.Assist with planning and design for upcoming project works, establishing work measurement programs and analysing work samples to develop standards for labour utilisation and on-site delivery.Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve asset performance and minimize downtime.Analyze and optimise mechanical systems for operational efficiency, focusing on high-impact, high-priority assets.Opportunities & Challenges of the role: Supporting multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.Meeting tight delivery timeframes for sites.Working within established budgets.Supporting and maintaining operations on a 24/7 basis.Coordination of subcontractors and managing client expectations.About You: Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.Ability to interpret electrical/control schematics and make redline revisions for modifications aligning with process requirements.Relevant industry experience in environmental, water treatment with a minimum of 1 year of site experience.Summary of role requirements: Flexible hours available.1 year of relevant work experience required for this role.Working rights required for this role.Expected salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year. #J-18808-Ljbffr
