Six Degrees are partnering exclusively with a leading Food manufacturing client in recruiting the Site Operations Manager role for their operations in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. This business provides a premier product in their specific market.
An exciting opportunity to play a lead role in driving manufacturing & operations across multiple sites. Take on full site responsibility for all operations including: Production, Supply Chain, Quality and CI.
Manage all aspects of the production function to achieve output, quality and cost targets whilst maintaining a safe work environment driving a safety first culture. As a member of the Operations Leadership Team, you will be involved in development and execution of the strategic direction of the operations department. Play the lead role within manufacturing team with regards to upskilling, coaching and training for the direct team and shopfloor.
Primary Responsibilities Production Management Manage all areas of plant production to deliver products that meet the quality, cost, volume and service criteria. Facilitate daily performance meetings with operations team stakeholders. Work with the planning team to optimise schedule to ensure efficiency whilst meeting customer requirements. Ensure shift supervisors lead their shifts appropriately and meet KPIs. Develop and implement plans to ensure accurate level volume of production for each product produced. Safety Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Lead by example by driving a safety first culture on-site and for the business. Set up structures and processes that provide long term success. Quality Work collaboratively with the Quality Manager to ensure standard work and process documents are being followed and products are produced to the agreed quality standards. Leadership Add capability to the production team influencing and providing direction across operations and manufacturing. What will you need to be successful? 5+ years' experience in similar Site leadership roles within the meat / chilled products / dairy manufacturing or perishable food industries. Preferred Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline. Adaptable leadership style, hands on when it is required. Can handle pressure & have the ability to multi-task. Trained in Continuous Improvement processes, with the ability to improve processes within a manufacturing environment. What's next?
