Simplot Kelso is our seafood and snacking processing plant, producing approx.
50 tonnes of product daily (75 SKUs) for the retail and foodservice markets including Birds Eye, I&J and Captain's Catch branded products.
The site employs approx.
120 local employees, with approximately 95% of manufactured goods consisting of either Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) seafood.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, in this Mon-Fri role (day work) the Electrical Team Leader will lead and coordinate a team of shift Maintenance Electricians to meet the site's Production and Maintenance schedules with a focus on safety, plant reliability and operational efficiency.

Site equipment includes:
Radio frequency tunnels Par frying Dusting, coating and frying Spiral freezing and frozen stores 2 automated, robotic packing and palletising lines What You Will Do Lead a team of Electrical tradespeople + an Apprentice in ensuring compliance to all Simplot policies and procedures Coordinate and supervise the safe and effective execution of planned maintenance work in accordance with the Maintenance Schedule Respond to unplanned emergency breakdowns in a timely manner, ensuring compliance to company OHS&E procedures, such as JHA, Take 5, special permit requirements etc.
Ensure that work undertaken by team members is completed to the highest level of safety, efficiency and quality of workmanship Provide regular and ongoing feedback and coaching on performance to the Electrical maintenance team Review completed work orders for detail and accuracy, ensuring that quality data is input into the CMMS (noting that Simplot utilise MEX CMMS) in a timely manner to ensure completeness of asset maintenance history in addition to coaching team members on best practice CMMS use Lead the Electrical maintenance team in meeting KPI targets, and implement corrective actions if necessary to achieve KPIs Liaise with wider Engineering / Maintenance and Production teams to achieve alignment with Maintenance & Production plans Contribute to the site's reliability strategy by providing the relevant technical expertise to assist with strategic decision making relating to maintenance planning, scheduling and execution Lead and participate in departmental and cross-functional continuous improvement team activities to continuously improve factory performance Assist the Projects team to develop, install and commission new equipment, modifications and improvements Provide reporting data & metrics to the Engineering Manager as required About You Hold a 100% commitment to health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace Australian recognised Electrical Trade Certificate e.g.
Cert III - Electrotechnology (or equivalent), with a Cert IV - Instrumentation being advantageous Demonstrated supervisory / leadership experience within an Electrical maintenance environment FMCG / manufacturing experience - food manufacturing experience being highly regarded Possess a high level of communication skills with the ability to liaise with a wide demographic of internal & external stakeholders Advanced knowledge of CMMS software in addition to the MS Office suite of products Exposure to LEAN manufacturing principles (advantageous) Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical (incl.
