The Signalling Testing and Commissioning Practice is an exciting team, eager to grasp modern systems, processes and concepts, within the regulatory framework that we are required to work.
We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join us in leading the functional testing of projects of all sizes and complexities.
You will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure and to use initiative whilst working within a highly regulated environment.
Do you have excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage and communicate with staff at all levels?
Are you able to promote the advancement of staff under your control and train staff as opportunities arise, and act as the Lead Mentor / Mentor for staff as required, including actively promoting their technical progression as railway signalling engineers?
The work is mainly site-based on projects and as such there may be a requirement to lodge away for extended periods of time and to work unsocial hours.
You must hold a full UK driving Licence.
Requirements: MUST Hold NR CofC - or have held in the past 5 years.MUST Hold IRSE Licence- Functional Tester 1.3.170 or have held in the past 5 years.Railway signalling functional testing with varied project experience to Location / Interlocking level and comprehensive equipment specific experience.NWR 3B/4 testing competency certification and / or industry recognised equipment specific specialist.Good working knowledge of Network Rail Signal Works Testing Handbook.A1 IRSE assessor for all testing categories except TIC, principles and systems testing (Desirable).Good working knowledge of Railway Group / NWR company standards requirements.Good personnel management and communication skills.Able to work under pressure during periods of high workload and commissionings.Current Driving Licence.Perform COSS duties as necessary.Responsibilities: Undertake the functional testing of relay based and CBI interlocking and carry out testing of 4 foot trackside equipment.Liaise and assist other test teams as required.Assist the Tester in Charge in evaluating the testing resource requirements for individual tasks.Upward briefing of project testing status to the Tester in charge.Ensure adherence to the AtkinsRealis standards, procedures, processes covering all engineering, safety, administrative and project requirements.Co-operate with quality, safety, and environmental objectives and contribute where appropriate to AtkinsRealis commitment for continual improvement.Undertake the testing and commissioning of signalling equipment to meet contract specifications, performance, and safety parameters.Plan team's work on a daily basis monitor and report progress to the TIC as required.Raise and close out Test Logs in an efficient manner.Promote the advancement of staff under your control and actively train staff as opportunities arise.Act as signalling works Mentor for staff as required, including actively promoting their technical progression as railway signalling engineers.Encourage and promote the advancement of staff as a route to self-development.Co-operate with performance appraisals, attend training courses, maintain IRSE logbook to an acceptable standard.Progress individual knowledge and skills to promote advancement.Why work for AtkinsRéalis?
