ABOUT THE ROLE The primary purpose of the SHS & Training Advisor is to provide SHS training and development support across the Operational and Corporate population in order to ensure skills and competency for today's business and future developments.
This role will be looking after all aspects of Safety, Health, Sustainability, and Training at both Energy and Ports working closely with local SHS and Operational teams to deliver stability, growth, reassurance and comfort that regulatory requirements at site are being met.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES SHS Lead SHS related activities with employees and managementProvide expert advice and support to employees and management to Qube's standardsPro-actively ensure that site risks are recognised, assessed and effective controls are implemented with regular reviewsRecognise unsafe behaviour, mentor and coach employees and managers to drive cultural change on siteAttend to safety related call outs and incidentsLiaise with other stakeholders as necessary to obtain key information to ensure SHS obligations are met and risks are controlledImplement the Qube Ports & Bulk injury management program by working with all stakeholders to ensure the best outcome for the injured employeeDevelop and implement SHS procedures in consultation with local and national management as well as the local SHS committeeBe responsible for the completion of safety reports and statisticsUndertake return to work activitiesTraining Develop and implement site training plans, skills matrices and budgets;Schedule, develop and deliver training and assessment programs in consultation with Operations and Labour ManagersCoordinate necessary training resources at sitesManage training records in line with Qube's record keeping processesMonitor skill ratings in Microster in consultation with Operations Manager; ensure consistency with training recordsMonitor learners progress and determine when they are ready to be assessed and signed off as competentPlan, coordinate and oversee part-time workplace trainers to conduct training and assessmentCoordinate traineeshipsClose gaps identified in auditsProvide monthly reports on State training activitiesQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE A minimum of three years in an operational SHE environment.To hold a safety or related tertiary qualificationIdentification and implementation of effective SHS initiatives.A thorough understanding of safety within heavy industry.Ability to develop tactical and strategic plans to address safety issues.Why QUBE?
