The opportunity:
Want to be part of an immersive and transformative arena show that can appear to spin, turn, shatter and transform through hi-tech projection mapping? As a Show Technician at Australian Outback Spectacular you will be responsible for just that, with backstage and behind the scenes execution of our show at Australian Outback Spectacular!
Your day to day:
• Prop and special FX setting and checks preshow
• Operation of Follow Spot
• Perform mechanist duties, equipment rigging and special fx operation
• Prepare the arena for the show
• Daily checks, cleaning and maintenance of show equipment and vehicles
• Cue cast and act as safety observers for performers
• Execute shows and performances as directed to ensure that set standard is maintained
• Ensure all equipment is used to the highest safety levels
• Mid show troubleshooting of microphones, etc
• Operation of Audio and/or Lighting Equipment
What you'll bring:
• Experience working as crew in a live show or theatrical environment desirable
• Experience with rigging equipment used in theatrical performance and aerial work highly regarded
• Extensive knowledge of lighting and projection systems highly regarded
• Extensive Knowledge of Audio systems highly regarded.
• Good knowledge of health and safety requirements and comfortable working around live animals
• A manual driving license Desirable
• Be physically fit with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work on any show day, including school holidays and weekends with shifts between 3:30pm-10:00pm Monday to Saturday and 9:00am-3:00pm on Sundays
