With a commitment to design and quality, Ringers Western has quickly made a strong presence in the market.ROLE DESCRIPTION:As a Shoe, Leather, and Accessories Technician & Product Developer, you will play a crucial role in developing high-quality, durable, and stylish leather products, including footwear and accessories. Your primary focus will be on transforming product concepts into tangible items, utilising your technical expertise in materials and design to bring product visions to life. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll ensure each product is designed, sampled, and produced to the highest standards, aligning with brand aesthetics and market needs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Product Development & Design SupportCollaborate with designers, product managers, and stakeholders to develop footwear, leather goods, and accessories from concept to final product.Conduct market research to identify trends and innovative materials, proposing design and functional improvements.Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and material lists for production.Prototyping & Sample CreationOversee prototyping and sample development, ensuring each item aligns with design specifications and meets quality standards.Liaise with suppliers and production partners to source materials, provide feedback, and troubleshoot issues during sample development.Modify and adjust prototypes based on testing and user feedback, ensuring functionality, durability, and aesthetics.Quality Assurance & Material TestingConduct material and product testing for durability, comfort, and performance; document and report findings.Implement quality control processes during sample and production stages, ensuring all products meet brand standards.Evaluate and troubleshoot production-related issues, adjusting specifications or techniques to resolve quality concerns.Technical Expertise & InnovationAdvise on material selection, construction methods, and technical designs for new and existing products.Identify and implement innovative technologies and sustainable practices within leather and material production.Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and material handling guides.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with manufacturing, sourcing, and supply chain teams to coordinate the production process.Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure product specifications and benefits are effectively communicated to the market.Provide technical training and support to internal teams, enhancing their understanding of the product line.KEY ATTRIBUTES:Proven experience in footwear, leather goods, or accessories development, with a focus on technical skills and material knowledge.Proficiency in product development software, CAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.Strong understanding of leather, textiles, and synthetic materials, including their properties and suitable applications.Exceptional attention to detail with an emphasis on quality and problem-solving.Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Knowledge of sustainable practices in the production of leather and textile products is a plus.PREFERRED SKILLS:Experience working with international suppliers and manufacturers.Knowledge of trend forecasting and market research methodologies.Familiarity with quality standards for footwear and accessories in international markets.WHAT WE OFFER:Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work with a passionate and dynamic founder-led team.A host of team perks, partner discounts and access to exclusive partnerships.
