The Opportunity Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Shift Supervisor (Plate Rolling) in our Hot Mills team based in Port Kembla.
As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
The Plate Rolling team is responsible for converting steel slab products into plate by controlling the heating and cooling processes within the operations.
This process produces a range of various plate products and sizes for our customers, both domestic and international.
In this essential role, you'll support your team and manage the day-to-day operations.
You'll work collaboratively within the departments, ensuring the team is focused on safety, quality and customer expectations, taking every opportunity to minimise cost and waste.
This position works a 12-hour rotating day and night shift, 7 days a week.
What Will You Do? You'll support the operation of the plate rolling process to deliver the continuous material flow, meeting our rolling mill and product quality requirements.
You will: successfully lead and contribute to a safe working environment, ensuring safety standards are never compromised lead the shift operations to achieve business targets and ensure operations are within standards supervise the operational activities and strive for business improvements and manufacturing excellence coach, mentor and develop shift team members to enhance capabilities provide technical support and problem-solving insight as issues arise prioritise work and resolve problems effectively and efficiently deliver best-practice process and procedure on shift More About You As an enthusiastic and motivated individual, you will demonstrate a willingness to lead and develop teams in achieving group success.
