We are currently seeking an experienced Shift Manager to join our team in Lara, VIC. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role manages the operations of the mill using complex production, safety and quality processes. The role exercises considerable supervision, reporting responsibilities, plans and implements in-house training programs. The role is Monday to Fridays with start times between 12pm and 2pm and finishing times between 8pm and 10pm with some flexible hours.

The key responsibilities for this position include: Directly responsible for the supervision of employees on shift, providing them with information, instruction, training, coaching and guidance to enable them to work in a safe and efficient manner. Act on the company's behalf to ensure the safe work practice of employees, contractors and visitors while on site Ensure JSA, confined space and other safety permits and procedures are followed and completed Ensures shift operations focuses on customer requirements and assists with meeting customer delivery targets Compliance with relevant Quality requirements, ensuring activities comply with the programs and assist in maintaining Quality accreditation's Demonstrates Ridley values through leadership training and supervision Supervises and participates in objective setting, plan development and performance review of employees in consultation with Manager Prepares reports, analyses data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and problem solving Actively promotes and supports the Continuous Improvement program Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate/solve problems in a timely manner and to identify opportunities for improvement. Participates in site audits including Safety, HACCP, Feed safe and close out actions as required through Site Manager Actively support site initiatives in line with Ridley programs, community links, responsible recycling/ waste programs, environmental requirements The key skills required for this role include Demonstrated supervisory experience -ability to lead and coach a team Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Demonstrated experience working in a complex manufacturing environment Knowledge of Microsoft office, Preventative maintenance systems and ERP systems Sound knowledge of OH&S and Environmental Policies and Legislation. Demonstrated competence in the use of CI tools. (5 Why, 3C, Win/Win Success) Confined space certificate Current Drivers and Forklift licences Intermediate skills in Microsoft Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) This is combined with the ability to demonstrate effective communication skills, high levels of initiative and driving accountability in all aspects of the role.
