The Opportunity Come and discover the opportunity to join our Hot Strip Mill - Roll Shop team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Shift Fitter . As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers. You will join a cross-functional team that ensures equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for quality and reliability. In this critical role, you will be able to use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes, whilst ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues are a priority. As a Shift Fitter, you will work a 4:4 24 x 7 rotating roster, comprising of rotating day and night shifts, Monday through to Sunday. What Will You Do? In this hands-on role, you will ensure that equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for safety, quality and reliability. You will apply your mechanical fitting skills and experience to complete both complex and routine maintenance tasks. You will do the following: grinding of Finishing Mill and Roughing Mill work and back-up rolls assembly of Roughing Mill work rolls and Skin Pass Mill work rolls changing chucks for Finish Mill work rolls and Roughing Mill work rolls using fine skills in measurement and assessment testing of defects in rolls isolating equipment and performing maintenance inspecting quality critical equipment and fault finding resolving issues and fixing any non-conformances seeking ways to continuously improve our maintenance strategies More About You You will have a strong technical background with the ability to work effectively and flexibly in a team environment.
