The Role
Ventia is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated SHEQ Advisor to join our dynamic SHEQ team in Adelaide. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team of six SHEQ professionals working on our AGFMA contract. This role involves shared responsibility for implementing, monitoring, and governing SHEQ programs, systems, and processes, with support from the SHEQ Manager and Quality Manager. As the key liaison between the SHEQ Manager and operational delivery, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective communication and alignment.
In addition, the SHEQ Advisor will oversee the Project Management Office (PMO), managing high-risk construction projects with budgets exceeding $450K. This responsibility includes ensuring that safety, health, environmental, and quality standards are fully integrated throughout every phase of project delivery, from planning to completion. The advisor will also work to mitigate risks and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Access discounts at over 450 retailers across Australia.The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Implement the project Health and Safety objectives by conducting thorough site inspections and accurately recording the findings.Lead the Project Management Office Portfolio (PMO) in safety to support Operations.Working collaboratively across the contract, implement the Health and Safety management plans, emergency response and business continuity planning.Lead and manage ICAM and Serious Incident investigations and drive learnings into the site and wider business as required.Ensure Ventia SHEQ standards are incorporated into the workplace.Undertake reasonable travel intrastate and interstate as required.Other reasonable activities as required for the role.About you: Certificate IV in WHS. (Required)Lead Investigator training – ICAM. (Required)2+ years of demonstrated experience in a high-risk construction safety role. (Required)Lead Auditor qualification. (Highly regarded)Current Driver's Licence. (Required)Willing to undertake pre-employment checks including but not limited to: Police check, WWCC, medical and psychometric testing.Sound knowledge and understanding of legislation, standards and codes of practice.Demonstrated experience leading investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.Undertake audits to establish process implementation.Strong written and verbal communication skills Communicating and consulting with a large contractor workforce.Demonstrated experience in a similar role and industry.About Ventia
