Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Supervisor to lead the Pipe, Laser, and Brake Press day-shift team, ensuring production aligns with the daily schedule while prioritising safety and quality.
You will champion ARB's OH&S policies, assisting the Production Manager in meeting budget and output targets, and fostering a high-performance team culture.
Key Responsibilities: Safety & Compliance: Champion ARB's OH&S policies and procedures to uphold a culture of safety and adherence to rigorous quality standards.
Lead Production Management : Assist the Production Manager in achieving budget and output targets for the Sheet Metal function to meet customer requirements.
Team Development : Build and motivate a high-performance team by fostering productive relationships and managing performance effectively.
Operational Efficiency : Maximise utilisation of personnel and resources, implementing best practices (BASF) to enhance productivity and minimise costs.
Production Oversight : Manage daily/weekly/monthly production targets in line with customer specifications, including necessary overtime.
Shift Management : Ensure work areas are prepared before shifts, and conduct daily handovers.
Performance Reporting : Develop KPIs and reports to track performance and identify actions needed for growth and efficiency.
Continuous Improvement : Lead root cause analysis and recommend changes to training and processes for ongoing improvement.
Interdepartmental Communication : Liaise effectively with departmental leaders, customers, and suppliers to ensure production targets are met.
Staffing Management : Collaborate with the Production Manager on staffing needs, recruitment, training, and daily supervision to optimise productivity.
Leadership Team Collaboration : Engage with the Leadership Team to share ideas for operational improvement and growth.
Essential Skills, Behaviours and Experience: Safety Management : Knowledge of safety standards and practices, with a proven track record in developing a safety-first culture.
Leadership Skills : Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Production Management : Strong understanding of production processes, particularly in sheet metal, pipe, laser, and brake press operations is Industry Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment, specifically related to sheet metal work.
Training and Development: Experience in coaching and developing team members, including conducting performance appraisals and implementing training programs.
