The Role:
Provide advice and information to callers of the Head to Health Phone Service, including consumers, carers and health professionals, about mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) services and supports. Complete mental health assessments over the phone using the Initial Assessment and Referral Decision Support Tool (IAR-DST) and refer individuals to appropriate services according to their identified level of care. Provide leadership, secondary consultation, case review and assistance to other clinical and non-clinical team members. You will need:
A minimum of two years post graduate employment in a clinical area directly applicable to mental health services. Ability to build rapport to manage sensitive and difficult situations in an empathetic manner. Demonstrated capability to establish and maintain relationships and partnerships to improve outcomes for clients, carers, and internal and external stakeholders. Details of appointment:
Multiple fixed term full time and part time, day worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.

Salary: $106,570 - $112,440 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022. Benefits available to eligible candidates:

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that lead to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
