Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a new Service Manager. Within our Client Services team, WAGEC operates four dedicated refuges across greater Sydney, Jeannie's is our largest site. Based in Burwood, the Service Manager oversees the daily site operations and provides supportive management for a team of five.
The role works collaboratively with other Service Managers and oversees the Sydney West client programs, including outreach services. The Service Manager is responsible for managing the dynamics of the refuge site, overseeing referrals, allocations, and assigning and coaching staff.
The role includes liaising with community partners and sector representatives and looks to respond strategically to external trends and policies to improve client outcomes. The Service Manager also participates in an after-hours On-Call management roster.
This is a full-time, permanent role.
The core responsibilities of the role are:Team performance - lead a high-performing team through dedicated management, coaching, and professional development.Program operations - oversee, develop and review policies, procedures, plans, and systems that enable positive client outcomes and safe, ethical practice.Program resources - manage and implement systems that ensure the efficient, effective, and accountable use of resources and assets.Sector and community engagement - create and maintain key external stakeholder relationships to support client outcomes and ensure WAGEC's continued engagement.Strategic program development - use data, organisational strategy, sector research, government policy, and practice guidelines to implement new programs that improve client outcomes and staff practice.WAGEC culture - model WAGEC values, ethics, and leadership to proactively contribute to WAGEC's overall culture and impact.ABOUT YOUYou have demonstrated leadership skills with a minimum of 5 years as a Manager of teams in frontline human services.You have significant experience delivering crisis, case management services, therapeutic, or clinical care.You are experienced in working in a trauma-informed way and have a strong understanding of the issues and systems impacting women and children, including homelessness and family and domestic violence.You're a strong communicator, skilled in de-escalation, conflict management, and resolution.You have experience working respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, elders, and/or organisations is highly desirable.Upload your resume and cover letter by clicking Apply Now.
