About the Role We are seeking a proactive and client-focussed Service Desk Technician to join our Shared Services team in Cairns. Supporting our NTH QLD offices, the role will act as a first point of contact for our BDO team members in efficiently resolving IT issues and service requests. Working within our service management processes, you will effectively classify, prioritise, resolve or escalate requests with the highest level of service and professionalism. The role involves both back of house applications and processes as well as assisting our staff and colleagues to find efficiencies and improve the way we work.
What you will be doing: Accurate recording of client and incident details and troubleshooting their progressInitial investigation of incidents and service requestsResolution or escalation of incidents and service requests, often using automated or documented processesMonitoring of incidents and requests and liaising with support teams to drive resolution and maintaining communication with relevant stakeholdersSetting up and exiting employees, including asset issuing, training and recoveryProviding training in the operation of IT assets and servicesDocumenting records to identify issues, known errors and related procedures.Key to your success will be your keen approach to learning and your strong client focus. You will have a passion for the intricacies and nuances of IT operations, commitment to information security, problem solving skills and enjoy managing multiple priorities. You will be capable of keeping up with technical advancements, adapting to change and supporting our staff with support and training as required while ensuring compliance with Information System and Technology procedures.
What you will bring to our team: This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to make a positive contribution in a dynamic professional services firm. This role will ideally suit a candidate with some experience in an IT service desk role gained within a corporate environment.
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related discipline (e.g. TAFE of University degree)Sound knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (e.g. Windows 10 & 11, Windows Server 2016/2019)Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity, communication and collaboration technologies (e.g. Microsoft Office/Teams, etc)ITIL certified and/or other IT service management and systems development methodologies desirableWell-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills to enable effective communication and interaction with stakeholders at all levelsActive Directory, Group Policy Objects, System Centre Configuration Manager and, associated Microsoft Azure technologiesDistributed and virtual computing platforms (e.g., Hyper V and Citrix)Willingness to learn relevant Finance and Accounting industry related applications (e.g., MYOB AE, Xero)Commitment to data governance and cybersecurity proceduresSelf-initiative and hunger to learn – we want you to ask questions, to clarify information and be proactive in your learning and advancement at BDO.Why BDO?
