Our skilled staff deliver a breadth of care-based services, across a vast geographic footprint, and in many types of locations.About the role:The Senior Youth Worker (Intensive Bail Initiative) is responsible for all the direct support to Young People (YP) and their families including one on one targeted support, group work/diversionary programs, cultural engagement and increasing support for families. The team will be working closely with the Youth Justice, Youth Co-responder Team, Queensland Police Service, and other specialist Community services.You will have the opportunity to support young people to address the reasons behind their offending behaviour. You will help achieve this vision through developing and delivering initiatives, programs, and interventions to:Increase community safety and reduce rates of youth offending.Improve wellbeing of children and young people in and transitioning from youth justice or custody.Reduce the disproportionate representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in the youth justice system.Support young people to build positive connections with family and other significant adults.Teach and support Young People life skills to support independent living and stability of accommodation.By working with us, you will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with the Department of Youth Justice to resolve complex issues and change life trajectories.This is a 7 Month Part-Time Fixed-Term Contract working 32 hours a fortnight, supporting our Gold Coast service, contract ending on the 27th July 2025.Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements:Diploma or Degree in Child, Youth & Family Intervention; Youth Work or Youth Justice; Community Services or similarCurrent National Police CheckCurrent Blue CardCurrent Queensland Driver LicenceCurrent License Care Service Check (LCS)About You:Ability to engage children and young people in interactions and activities that are purposeful and goal orientated.Well-developed communication and relationship building skills with young people from diverse backgrounds.Experience working from a trauma-informed framework with a sound understanding of child development and behaviour.An understanding of the role of family dynamics in the lives of children.Able to operate with autonomy and to seek advice and authority as required.Ability to respond to crisis situations with flexibility but with consideration of risk and compliance.Anglicare is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, those from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ communities, people with disabilities and people with a lived experience of mental health.
