About the Role The People Strategy and Operations Division is responsible for developing and maintaining the department's human resources policies and guidelines for the department's Victorian Public Service; managing the industrial environment; and providing strategic and authoritative advice and consultancy support to internal stakeholders and managers on human resources and employee relations matters.
The Policy, Workplace Relations and HR Business Partnering (VPS) branch are seeking a focused individual with strong experience in Employee Relations / Workplace Relations, strong conceptual, analytical and writing skills, and who possesses strong stakeholder and customer management skills.
The Policy and Workplace Relations team support stakeholders through the provisions of strategic and specialist advice on complex HR/IR issues and will have the responsibility for one or more HR Policy development projects.
The Senior WR Consultant will be involved in the preparation of briefings, correspondence, and will be required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders on key HR reforms.
The role may also involve coaching and developing other team members within the team, providing support to improve their HR practice and coordination of the work of the team as needed.
About You You will have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in HR policy, excellent planning and organising skills, strong strategic and problem-solving skills, and the ability to produce high-quality briefings and other written communication in relation to the functions of the role.
You will possess strong conceptual and analytical skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
In addition, you will be organised and able to work to often tight deadlines and with competing priorities.
You will have proven high-level skills in inter-personal communication, policy development, and the provisions of IR advice.
