About us
We are the most influential, independent business body in Victoria with over 100,000 in our network. Our members choose us because of our network and connectivity, policy influence, professional development opportunities, and range of business services (we're trusted experts in workplace relations, international trade, workplace health, safety and wellbeing, and policy development). Our team of 180+ staff thrive on putting our members first in everything we do – from providing exceptional customer service to advocating for their interests to all levels of government. The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry works for the success of our members, business and Victoria.
About the role
This is an additional position for our existing team, and the role is responsible for providing high quality consulting services, including verbal and written advice to Victorian Chamber members, customers and clients in all aspects of workplace relations and employment legislation, including conducting information or education sessions. Our team delivers a range of professional fee for service consulting including modern award interpretation, wage and condition audits, workplace investigations, Fair Work Commission representation, enterprise agreement assistance, performance management and termination advice, and offers best practice solutions to solve complex issues.
About you
This role will suit someone seeking a challenging and diverse role with a passion for workplace relations. You will have tertiary qualifications in law, HR or IR (or equivalent industry experience) and have substantial experience dealing with complex issues across a range of workplace environments. Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate depth of experience and successful delivery in several of the following:
Experience in conducting workplace investigations
Experience or in-depth understanding of negotiating enterprise agreements
Understand the Fair Work Commission's processes and ideally have represented at the FWC
Comprehensive knowledge of various workplace relations legislation, including modern awards
Experience in providing high-quality advice on HR/IR matters including complex wage audits
Ability to manage complex claims that involve external parties and representatives
Proven ability to write professional formal documents including policies, letters and reports
Demonstrated ability to build business relationships and actively seek business opportunities
Previous experience in a fee for service consultancy role is well regarded, but not essential. We have a number of the team that have moved across from internal HR roles, as well as from employment law environments. The ability to work as part of a team that is supportive, intellectually curious and actively shares knowledge is essential.
Be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation that values excellence and offers a collaborative working environment. A competitive salary will be offered to the successful candidate.
How to apply
If this sounds like you, we encourage you to 'Apply now'. Applications, including a cover letter addressing which skills and experience you can demonstrate from the list above, should be addressed to the HR Department. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, so we encourage you to apply as soon as you can.
Please note that the successful applicant will be subject to a satisfactory police check as a pre-condition of employment. A current and valid driver's licence is also a requirement for this role.
