Principal Server Engineer (Windows Platform) Contract Duration: 12 months

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Principal Server Engineer with a strong focus on operating system security hardening, automation, and large-scale system management.
This role will be key in developing secure Standard Operating Environments (SOE) for both Windows and Linux servers, driving automation initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:Automation & Orchestration: Automate server hardening, software deployments, and system upgrades using tools such as Ansible, Aria Automation (optional), and Azure pipelines.Legacy System Hardening: Establish and document security standards for legacy systems to align with modern security requirements.RBAC Implementation: Implement and manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) across a fleet of 7,000+ virtual machines across multiple hosting locations.Patching Solutions: Design and migrate patching solutions, transitioning from WSUS to modern patch management systems.SOE Development: Lead the design and implementation of SOE for Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) with a focus on security hardening and industry alignment.Security Hardening: Build and secure Windows and Linux server environments using tools like Ansible and Group Policy.
Ensure compliance with industry-standard hardening guidelines.Proactive Healing: Implement strategies for proactive system health management and stability.Windows 2025 SOE Preparation: Prepare for the rollout of Windows 2025 SOE across AWS, Azure, and VMware platforms.KMS Transition: Lead the transition from the 2008 KMS system to MAK.Required Skills:OS Security Hardening: Proven experience in building and security hardening Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022).
RHEL (RHEL8, RHEL9) experience is highly desirable.Automation Tools: Proficient in automation using Ansible, Aria Automation (optional), and Azure pipelines for server fleet deployment and upgrades.Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, and VMware for deploying and maintaining secure SOE environments.Patching Solutions: Hands-on experience designing and migrating patching solutions from WSUS.VMware & Hosting: Experience managing large VM fleets (7,000+) across multiple hosting locations.RBAC Implementation: Proven track record in implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) across large server environments.Candidate Profile:Windows & Linux Expertise: Strong background in managing Windows (2016, 2019, 2022) and Linux (RHEL8, RHEL9 optional) server operating systems.Cybersecurity Focus: Interest or experience in cybersecurity, particularly vulnerability management.Automation Enthusiast: Passion for automating administrative tasks and eliminating manual processes.How to Apply:Submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your experience with OS security hardening and automation.
