Work Location: Cloudbreak mine site (Chichester Hub)
Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex. Perth
This role will cover the Cloudbreak and Christmas Creek mine sites in the department of Water Management as part of the Chichester Hub Operations.
Reporting to the Superintendent Engineering, the Senior Water Management Engineer will provide engineering and technical support to the Chichester Water Management operations and maintenance team to enable the department to meet its safety, cost and performance objectives. The successful candidate is resourceful and a self-learner, who actively seeks opportunities for process improvement and innovation in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and nurture a diverse team covering production, reliability, control systems and dewatering hydrogeology.
Establish and maintain standard measuring, monitoring, and reporting of assets performance, and provide strategies and tactics to continuously improve the reliability of those assets.
Actively identify and lead improvements to all dewatering related standards, specifications, procedures, systems and processes.
Continuously liaise with Projects on the safe and successful design, implementation and commissioning of delivered water projects to standards and procedures.
Provide technical direction to the operations and maintenance teams to ensure continuous improvement and optimisation of the dewatering and water supply networks.
Generate improvement projects and drive the team to deliver these projects based on the benefit they will provide to the department and our key stakeholders.
Assist in the development of operational budgets and business cases for capital investment projects.
Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or Environmental) or Geosciences.
Water management experience in the mining industry with specifics around large scale open pit dewatering, water supply, reinjection, sumping and tailings operations.
Working knowledge of Industry and Australian Standards, Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regs.
Demonstrated ability to engage, connect and influence key stakeholders at all organisational levels.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced skills in MS Office, in particular Excel.
Experience using GIS and CAD software such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
