The Business
AustCorp Executive is working in partnership with a leading engineering consultancy. The company specialises in project management and executing large-scale industrial projects across various sectors, including oil & gas, mining and renewable energy.
  
The role we are recruiting for is a Principal Power Systems Engineer. This person will be responsible for conceptual and detailed design, power system modelling and studies as well as developing technical solutions to complex network and connection issues.
  
The Role Develop technical solutions for complex network and connection issues. Provide project management and support across a range of projects. Deliver power system studies for renewable energy projects. Working on all aspects of electrical scope of work across all phases of projects including conceptual Studies, FEED, detailed design and procurement through to commissioning. Identify opportunities for future work and project extensions. Design HV & LV generation, distribution, reticulation and control systems. Provide guidance, coach and mentor engineers across the discipline The Requirements

Bachelor's or higher degree in electrical engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 8+ years proven technical experience. Extensive and proven technical experience in designing electrical systems for large scale installations across various industrial sectors. Project management capabilities and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Demonstrated understanding of power system modelling with proficiency in electrical design and simulation tools such as SKM PTW, ETap, DigSilent PowerFactory, PSCAD, CYMCAP, CDEGS, etc. Experience and exposure working with network/ distribution NSPs, knowledge of the NER. Experience with AEMO connections and GPS studies will be advantageous. Experience and knowledge of the prevalent high voltage design standard and codes including AS/NZS, IEC and IEEE standards. Natural ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. What's in It for you?
