Job Description About the opportunity We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced Senior Test Analyst to develop and implement test strategies for a project to migrate our Griffith enterprise data warehouse to the cloud.
You would need to be meticulous, and detail orientated, with a passion for accuracy.
This role includes: understanding and following project requirements creating test scripts/scenarios/plans linked to the requirements executing test cases performing data analysis recording test results managing and communicating the test delivery/progress collaborating with the vendor, Griffith SME's, project team members and other stakeholders and tracking any issues to closure This role requires technical testing experience and proficiency in accessing and querying databases using SQL (PL/SQL & T-SQL).
It would also be advantageous if you also had experience in any of the following: Python DevOps Azure DB/Dedicated SQL Pool Azure Data Lake Synapse Analytics Understanding of Data Warehouse principles About you A degree with substantial work-related experience in data analysis and testing.
Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in languages like SQL and Python is crucial for writing test scripts and automating tests.
Data Analysis: Ability to analyse data to identify patterns, anomalies, and issues.
Knowledge of ETL Processes: Understanding Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure data is correctly processed and loaded.
Familiarity with Data Tools: Experience with data tools and platforms such as SSMS, Azure, Synapse Analytics, or dbt (data build tool) would be an advantage.
Meticulousness in identifying and documenting issues in data pipelines.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues effectively.
Ability to evaluate data processes and systems to identify potential improvements.
High level communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, together with the ability to effectively liaise across all levels of a diverse organisation.
Reporting to the Product Manager for Data and Analytics Platforms, you will be working with an experienced Data Engineering team.
You will also be a part of our journey to a modern cloud data warehouse that includes custom upskilling and training.
What we can offer This position is a 2 year, fixed term role based at our Nathan Campus.
As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Griffith University's campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
HEW Level 8 range $110,939 - $124,803 per annum + 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be in the range $129,799 - $146,020 per annum.
