The Engineering and Technology (E&T) branch is seeking a skilled Senior Technician (Audit & Surveillance) who will be responsible for conducting audit and surveillance activities on departmental projects, external stakeholders, and asphalt plant and laboratory operations across Queensland. Ensuring compliance with departmental and Australian standards, you will provide expert advice on interpreting standards, procedures, and protocols.
Your responsibilities include:
Conducting specialist investigations in construction materials testing, particularly in asphalt.Reviewing calibration of equipment.Offering technical consultancy to staff and industry.Liaising with clients and stakeholders to manage expectations, review project performance, and address issues identified through audits.A thorough understanding of construction materials standards, NATA requirements, and AS ISO/IEC 17025:2018 is essential.
Please note that this role will require interstate travel and will also involve a combination of day, afternoon, and night shifts in accordance with the Shift Work Provisions of the Queensland Public Service Award- State.
