Your opportunity You'll contribute to Queensland's energy transition and join a highly motivated team to provide technical leadership to the Enterprise Data team in order to achieve successful business outcomes and objectives. Reporting to our Enterprise Data Manager, as the Senior Technical Specialist you are responsible for providing expert technical support in articulation, design and development of new solutions as well as the improvements and optimisations to existing solutions across our data platforms.
Based at any major QLD centre, you'll draw on your strong technical skills, contributing to the selection, planning, analysis, design and implementation of Energy Queensland's enterprise data strategies, standards, methodologies, applications, and frameworks. You will work closely with a team of technical professionals based in Newstead, collaborate with leaders on platform matters, providing expert advice, recommendations and reporting platform performance to the Enterprise Data Manager.
Amplify your impact: Provide technical leadership in Enterprise data solutions including modelling, analytics and reporting as well as Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-based technologies, Databricks, Fivetran and PowerBI.Knowledge of SAP data and analytic environments desirable.Ensure the development, maintenance and enhancement of processes and products are standardised to minimise development and support costs.Lead the support and the optimisation of end-to-end data solutions that are highly available, scalable, stable, secure, and cost-effective.Lead the technical handover to operational teams at the conclusion of projects, and lead problem investigation through to resolution by applying a high level of detailed technical specialist knowledge to effectively analyse and resolve problems.This position is graded as Professional & Managerial Grade Two. On a 10-day fortnight, the remuneration for your new role is from $171,495 per annum + 14.75% superannuation.

Extensive demonstrated knowledge and experience in business intelligence tools which encompasses the areas of visualisation (e.g. reports, dashboards), platform support and data extraction, transformation and loading.Extensive demonstrated knowledge and experience in current approaches to business intelligence and an understanding of emerging trends in tools, techniques, methodologies, and architectures.Extensive demonstrated knowledge and experience in analysis, complex problem-solving, development and support in business intelligence.Extensive demonstrated knowledge and experience of various database technologies.Extensive demonstrated experience in mentoring technical staff and reviewing deliverables to provide constructive feedback.Demonstrated expert experience in building and maintaining secure, reliable, and scalable services on Amazon Web Services (AWS).What matters most?
