The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects.
We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities.
VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.
The opportunity The Senior Technical Specialist, Design Reform has primary responsibility for leading the review, development and implementation and reform of the Victorian Health Building Authority's (VHBA) design standards and process for health infrastructure projects across Victoria.
This role is tasked to ensure that design processes and standards are up-to-date, effective, and aligned with current best practices, regulatory requirements, and the evolving needs of the health sector.
This role will lead and drive the development and delivery of cross-disciplinary/sector reform of the health infrastructure design process from inception through to implementation and transition to business-as-usual functions.
You will be a highly focused and driven person who is passionate about contributing to the delivery of public health infrastructure, leading a high-performing team to drive exceptional outcomes!
We are looking for:
Deep understanding of Project Management and the ability to navigate political sensitivities to actively champion the project, providing guidance and support to project managers to identify risks and overcome obstacles.Extensive experience in change management, planning and implementation, with demonstrated experience in developing, leading and executing large-scale reform programs requiring significant change management.Creativity and innovation: generate innovative ideas and draw on a range of information sources to identify new ways of doing things.Advanced written communication skills, with the ability to identify key messages and information required for decision making, and to provide advice on influencing and the needs of target audiences.Ability to establish and/or work within existing frameworks (including Digital Engineering) for collecting and analysing data related to design effectiveness, patient outcomes, and stakeholder satisfaction.Strong ability to diagnose trends, obstacles, and opportunities in the internal and external environment, understand the linkages between systems to inform policy advice, and conceptualise and define the systems working within the organisation to improve them.Qualification: Tertiary qualification within Architecture, Engineering or Project Management, or related discipline is mandatory.
Health sector or related sector experience is desirable.
