Overview of the role This is a fantastic time to be joining Suncorp as the industry goes through significant change. As a result, we are looking for a strong Technical Business Analyst ideally with Duck Creek experience to join our project team for the Digital Insurer Project. One of the largest transformation projects ever undertaken by Suncorp, you will join at the beginning phase of this exciting initiative which is expected to run for 5+ years.
You will have the opportunity to join our large Analysis Chapter that supports a variety of medium to large scale programs across the Suncorp Group. The Chapter consists of around 200 like-minded analysts, where ideas and best practice are shared via masterclasses and knowledge sharing. You will support projects being delivered in a continuous delivery model (Agile) and supporting the platform.
What you'll do: Build strong relationships through engagement with colleagues, and stakeholders across Business and Technology. Document current and future state processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Use information gathering techniques to proactively discover requirements and synthesise information accurately, completely, and coherently. Work collaboratively with delivery teams and business stakeholders to gather, validate and document business requirements and develop recommendations and solutions that meet business and customer needs. Raise, and support mitigation and resolution of, risks and issues using established tools and frameworks where applicable. Create detailed user stories (in JIRA) to support delivery. Document Technical design, Functional and Non-Functional Requirements, PL101 completion, Policy Data Model updates, Interface/Integration mapping, Migration Mapping, Technical support documentation & Knowledge Bases. As the Duck Creek Policy Technical BA, work closely with the DC Billing tech BA, the DC Integration Tech BA and others in the DC Policy Platform core team. Work closely with squad/project members, including but not limited to Project Manager, Scrum Master, architects, Developers, Tech Leads, Test Analyst to identify, capture, plan and deliver changes. Mentor/train team members; participate and contribute to business analyst chapter and/or forums providing insights and thought leadership. Suncorp offers a hybrid way of working where you will be expected to be in the office approx. 2 days per week. What you'll bring: Minimum 1 year working experience in Duck Creek applications (Migration) and related integration. Desired: Duck Creek technical knowledge and experience with development accelerators including PL101 and Technical Solution Blueprints. MUST HAVE: worked on a large-scale migration program of work. Minimum 5 years technical business analysis experience in a project/delivery oriented role from a large organisation. Minimum 3 years' Agile, Lean and waterfall experience including knowledge of Agile practices, workshops, and Agile ceremonies facilitation. Experience working in the General Insurance space. Must be able to translate and understand business and technical requirements and provide appropriate alternatives and solutions to meet those requirements. Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and influencing skills including experience in dealing with various stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills. Strong team player with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and desire to make a difference. Must be able to manage multiple complex initiatives with competing deadlines.
