Our services are essential for life - everyday, millions of Western Australians rely on us to deliver and manage water across our state.If you're driven to make a meaningful contribution, you've come to the right place.We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Technical Advisor – Water TPR (Treatment Performance & Review) within our Operations Group.Based at our Leederville office, this role will provide specialist engineering and scientific consultancy services to review and support water treatment performance.Contribute to the development and maintenance of treatment policy, strategies and standards and the oversight of treatment performance and governance.A background of technical experience in performance and compliance of water schemes and ability to work alongside Treatment Plant Operators, Team Leaders, Operations Managers, Technical experts, and Senior Managers is key to the success of this role. Experience in scheme management, design, operations, process control and monitoring will be an advantage.This is a role in a new team, and we are looking for candidates who are willing to contribute to building a positive culture and to help to shape our processes and ways of working.This position is available from 25th November 2024 – 30th January 2026.The fundamentals of the role include:Plan, lead, and undertake scientific and engineering investigations and audits for review and assessment of water treatment performance across the state.Support Asset Investment Planning in establishing treatment performance requirements and appropriate operations and maintenance activities for water treatment technologies.Perform the routine review of water treatment plants' performance against performance criteria and other documents, using various corporate systems (WQMS & SCADA) to produce regular summary reports.Review and develop relevant Water Quality Business Unit standards, manuals, procedures, and documentation related to water treatment (e.g. Water Safety Plans).Stakeholder engagement to facilitate the review and endorsement of enhanced operational planning (e.g., getting consensus from different stakeholders to review and approve corporate documents).Develop and maintain performance and standard audits used to demonstrate compliance to regulatory requirements.Manage the technical requirements of water treatment chemical contracts for the Water Corporation.Lead and contribute to the provision of specialist advice on treatment operating modes that relate to a state-wide strategy or application.Undertake projects, including R&D, related to water treatment systems and technologies.Real benefits that matterReal flexibility with options to work from home, 9-day fortnight, flexible work hours.Two well-being days each year of continuous service to do whatever you need to do to feel good.Generous co-contribution superannuation.17.5% Annual Leave loading.24th December paid leave day.Discover more benefits we offer to support the unique and individual ways our employees live.Ideally, you will possess:Tertiary qualification in relevant scientific or engineering field or a relevant trade, technical or engineering associate qualification.Considerable experience and knowledge in water treatment operations, process design, monitoring and compliance will be an advantage.Proactive and self-motivated with excellent planning and communication skills.Demonstrated knowledge of the use of various water quality databases (e.g., WQMS, ODSS, etc).Demonstrate leadership by ensuring all projects and tasks are undertaken with safety as the priority.Start your application!If you are interested in the above opportunity, please submit a covering letter and resume that best demonstrates your ability to meet the requirements of the role.As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to complete Pre-Employment screening which may include a medical, qualification check, police clearance and Australian working rights check.We reserve the right to withdraw this ad prior to the closing date.Our commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace:Diversity and inclusion are more than words.
