Senior Tax Analyst
Opportunity knocks for an experienced Tax Analyst to gain international taxation exposure and the opportunity to move into the mining sector, for a global leader in precious commodities.
Our client is a Tier 1 mining organization with significant global operations on four continents.
An opportunity has now presented itself for an experienced Tax Analyst to work on APAC initiatives from a corporate office in Perth CBD.
Working closely with the Tax Director, you will manage the tax liabilities of multi-billion-dollar projects and operations in the APAC portfolio.
Our client is looking to grow the corporate accounting team and will support the career development of the successful candidate. Your role will include the optimization of systems and procedures and drive further change across the division. The aim for this hire is the succession planning for the current Tax Director as they move into differing senior finance roles; a real opportunity to be mentored and nurtured into a senior role in the fullness of time.
Key Responsibilities: Corporate compliance and quarterly reportingMaintain relationships with shareholder representatives to ensure regional complianceWork with internal and external tax advisors to facilitate auditsManage the income tax accounting requirements of this Australian Mining GroupField and manage queries raised by the tax authoritiesProvide accurate and timely taxation advice to all areas of the businessAssist with external reporting of taxes paid to shareholders and Government agenciesAssist with other accounting tasks as required and act as backup for other finance professionalsIdentify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements, automation, or technology solutions to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance end user experienceEnsure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards to ensure that tax activities are conducted in a compliant mannerEstablish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and internal teamsQualifications: Business / Commerce / Finance with Accounting MajorCA/ CPA desirable6-9 years of experience in a similar roleMining experience desirable, but an opportunity to move into Mining if you have large corporate experience in a differing industryLarge scale corporate experience or practice backgrounds would be consideredAttractive salary and bonus conditions are applicable to the position.
