DescriptionIn a nutshell... As a Senior Systems Engineer at Spirit, you will be playing a pivotal role in supporting and improving the quality, efficiency, and success of internal and external infrastructure. We are seeking an individual with a unique blend of common sense, a strong technical understanding, and the versatility to work seamlessly as part of a team or autonomously. Your role goes beyond a conventional senior system engineering role; you'll be entrusted with solving complex problems within client environments, emphasising efficiency and stability. Collaborating closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike, you will ensure that our managed services not only meet but exceed client expectations, contributing to the ongoing improvement and investment in our services.

This role is available in Sydney CBD or Gold Coast (Southport) - both hybrid (working 3 days in office).
ResponsibilitiesProvide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for systems and network-related issues.Receive escalated customer calls and emails clarifying requirements in a timely manner.Diagnose and resolve system and network performance problems, in internal and client environments.Ensure customer Service Level Agreements (SLA) and customer expectations are met.Respond promptly to service outages and incidents, implementing effective remediation measures to minimise downtime.Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.Manage and execute systems & network configuration changes, upgrades, and deployments.Cultivate strong relationships with clients by providing top tier service and support.Support both WAN and LAN Infrastructure for client and internal environments.Collaborate with data centre operations teams to coordinate system and network upgrades, migrations, capacity planning, and incident management.Design, implement, and manage complex infrastructure solutions for both internal and external client environments.Assist with the stability, security, and scalability of systems through proactive monitoring and maintenance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate networking solutions with other IT systems and applications.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and other technical resources within the organisation.Adhere to the Spirit policies and procedures, and work with teams to iterate and develop said policies and procedures.Minimum RequirementsAt least 5 years of technical experience in a medium or enterprise environment.Experience with virtualisation (VMWare, Hyper-V, Azure, Azure Virtual Machines).Experience with Backup and Storage solutions (Veeam, DattoBackup, AvePoint).Experience supporting M365 and Cloud computing and maintaining industry best practices.Experience with products & technologies like Ninja1, ServiceNow, Auvik, Highlighter, SSL, AD, DNS, etc.Experience supporting English speaking countries.5+ Years working with Windows and Linux Server Operating systems.Experience with designing, implementing, and managing client infrastructure.Familiarity with data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, and virtualization technologies.Experience with industry leading networking infrastructure (Meraki, Fortinet, Sophos, Juniper, Cisco, Watchguard, Mikrotik, Aruba, Rukus).The ability to prioritise tasks effectively, while maintaining ticket documentation and management standard.Ability to make sound decisions and judgement whilst dealing with internal and external stakeholders in high pressure situations.Demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex technical issues, utilising critical thinking and analytical reasoning.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.The ability to convey technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.A customer-centric mindset, prioritising the needs and objectives of clients while delivering exceptional service and support.Your tech...• Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
