Join V/Line in this newly created Senior Systems Engineer role in the Requirements & Verification team within our Project Services unit.
Apply your expertise in systems engineering and requirements management to make a significant impact on major rail projects across Victoria.
About the Role As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for end-to-end requirements management, from identification through to verification and validation.
You will interface with various stakeholders—including the wider V/Line organisation, LXRA, and DTP—to ensure comprehensive systems engineering and project requirements management throughout the project lifecycle.
You will also support and mentor Systems Engineers within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and apply the Systems Engineering Management Framework within V/Line.Support and mentor Systems Engineers and advocate for the Systems Engineering process.Coordinate with internal stakeholders to define rail system requirements.Oversee end-to-end requirements traceability from identification to verification and validation.Maintain an up-to-date repository for requirements and provide reporting.Engage with internal and external stakeholders to represent V/Line's requirements and interests.Conduct requirement elicitation, analysis, and documentation.Support the verification and validation process and manage related documentation.Contribute to identifying and resolving project risks and issues.Provide support to project delivery teams and develop effective methodologies, tools, and templates.About You Bachelor, or higher, in an Engineering discipline.5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering and/or Requirements Management.Strong leadership and mentoring skills.Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships.Qualification in Requirements Management, such as post-graduate credentials in Business Analysis or Systems Engineering.Registration with a recognised engineering body (e.g., Engineers Australia), and/or Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or Chartered Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP).Knowledge of rail infrastructure, signalling, and control systems (desirable).Experience with DOORS Next Generation (DOORS NG) from the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) suite.What We Offer Competitive Salary: Ranging from $129,700 to $157,200 Total Remuneration Package.Benefits: 4 weeks leave, 11.5% superannuation, and free myki for metro and regional travel.Apply Now Click through to our V/Line Careers page to apply.
