APS4 - $60 - $80 per hour (inc. super)
APS5 - $70 - $100 per hour (inc. super)
APS6 - $100 - $130 per hour (inc. super)
EL1 - $130 - $160 per hour (inc. super)
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with expertise in COBOL to support the implementation of the Payday Super initiative. This transformative program aims to modernize the Super Guarantee (SG) system, ensuring faster and more accurate processing of superannuation contributions for millions of Australians. As a Mainframe Developer, you will play a critical role in updating, optimizing, and maintaining mainframe systems to align with the accelerated processes and compliance requirements of Payday Super. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, high-performance solutions for this landmark initiative.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs to support the Payday Super requirements.Modify existing mainframe applications to accommodate changes in SG processes and legislative updates.Enhance system performance and scalability to meet the faster processing requirements of Payday Super.Analyze and improve existing workflows to support real-time data integration with Single Touch Payroll and contribution systems.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, product owners, and system architects, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Ensure seamless integration between mainframe systems and external platforms, such as super funds, clearing houses, and gateways.Perform unit testing and participate in system testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly to minimize system downtime.Ensure that all development activities comply with legislative and regulatory requirements.Create and maintain technical documentation, including code changes, system processes, and operational procedures.Skills and Experience: Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL programming.Proficiency in JCL, VSAM, CICS, and DB2.Experience in modifying and maintaining large-scale mainframe applications in a financial or compliance-driven environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.Knowledge of superannuation systems and Single Touch Payroll processes.Experience with legislative or compliance-related projects.Familiarity with integration technologies and data exchange protocols.HOW TO APPLY Please follow the application process carefully.
