Your responsibilities will include: About the program: AIR6500 Futures project will provide a deployable ground-based, medium-range, air-defence (GBMRAD) capability designed to deter, deny and/or defeat air and missile threats to the Joint Force and valuable assets.
Air6500 Futures is an extension of the Joint Air Battle Management System that will include additional Air Battle Management, Air and Missile Defence, and Electromagnetic Battle Management capabilities.
The system will be able to operate independently or as a component of the Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defence (JIAMD) capability.
About the role: As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Additional responsibilities will include: Resolving system and sub-system level requirements through decomposition and design, representing these in the Model Based Engineering (MBE) environment Developing key interface definitions, representing these in the MBE Environment Resolving design and solution Trade-Offs against System Requirements Developing key AIR6500 technical documents and artefacts such as solution descriptions, trade studies and definition of requirements About you: To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience with development of systems design for large complex systems, impressive experience trading off designs and solutions with an understanding of the potential component level, sub-system level, and system level impacts, along with: Significant knowledge in one or more of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare (C4ISREW) domains Excellent understanding of Model Based Systems Development (MBSD) and Model Based Engineering (MBE) principles Extensive experience with development of systems design for large complex systems Experience with DoDAF, SysML, MagicDraw, Rhapsody or similar will be an advantage Significant knowledge and experience undertaking Agile development Eligibility to gain an Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and information Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
