The System Support team in the IT Support Directorate is passionate about providing specialist system support to the Criminal Intelligence Command (CIC), the Electronic Evidence Unit (EEU), and other commands and units with specific system requirements. This includes technical design, implementation, support, and maintenance of ICT Systems.
As part of this role, you'll also collaborate with internal stakeholders to support organisational change and key QPS projects and initiatives.

This position is located in Brisbane City and will be accommodated with and tasked by the Command or Unit they support, while reporting to a Principal Systems Administrator (System Support).
Your key accountabilities Deliver the design, procurement, implementation, support, and maintenance of ICT systems used by the Command or Unit.Contribute to business requirements and specifications to facilitate vendor quotations, contracts, and deliverables.Maintain a dedicated, secure information technology infrastructure and associated hardware/software within the Command or Unit.Assist in the identification, monitoring and analysis of trends, crime patterns and criminal activity involving the use of information technology and respond accordingly.Contribute to the development, administration and implementation of quality assurance measures, operational plans and training programs relating to the Command or Unit.Role Requirements Qualification: Degrees, diplomas and certifications in ICT will be highly regarded.
Technical/Operational/Educational experience: Demonstrated experience and competency in a range of technical disciplines as specified below would be considered an advantage for this position.
Prior experience in an enterprise-scale ICT environment.Experience designing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining mission-critical 24x7 ICT services.Experience administering server and desktop technologies, including but not limited to Linux - Ubuntu/Debian Desktop and Server, VMWare ESXi Server, vSphere, MS Windows Server 2008/2012/2019, Windows 10 & 11 & Macintosh.Experience administering networking technologies for complex ICT systems.Experience administering digital forensics software such as LACE, Cellebrite.Experience in troubleshooting and solving technical issues.Other: This position is required to participate in a 24/7 on-call ICT support roster. This position may be required to undertake periodic pre-approved overtime and periodic work outside normal business hours. This position may be required to provide expert evidence on systems related matters for Command or Unit they support on behalf of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) in a Court of law. Commands and Units deal with sensitive and exploitation materials and there will be some exposure to material (written, visual and audio) of a graphic and sensitive nature. The successful applicant/s will be required to undergo psychometric assessment prior to appointment. As part of employee wellbeing requirements, the successful applicant will be required to undergo periodic psychological evaluations during their employment. Subject to the Command or Unit they will be supporting, the successful applicant may be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Australian Government security clearance governed by the Department of Defence.
