About the program AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems.
AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
Your responsibilities will include: As the Senior Systems Administrator, you will provide Subject Matter Expertise to the program and other System Administrators on ICT Systems.
Some key responsibilities include; Administration, hardening and ongoing compliance of Operating Systems, Applications and ICT Infrastructure IAW relevant standards (i.e.
ISM, Corporate Policies, Best Practice) Working within an Agile environment, actively contribute to the sizing, prioritisation and execution of work packages using sprint cycles.
Analyse SWIL health, performance and environment using monitoring tools (Vendor infrastructure monitoring tools, Grafana Dashboards, Splunk).
Analyse hardware alerts and failures with ability to replace any faulty SWIL hardware component.
Oversee configuration management (CM) of SWIL infrastructure, software and system baselines.
Establish and update drawings of the SWIL infrastructure including rack layouts, network diagrams to maintain the documented configuration About you: To be successful in the role you will have significant experience in supporting, investigating, diagnosing and resolving ICT related technical issues for physical, virtualized environments, applications, varying OS and database systems, along with; • Impressive experience using scripting language and automation for the deployment and management of ICT systems.
• Demonstrated experience in the administration of complex ICT System solutions for defence environments.
• Considerable experience in working across multiple disciplinary teams.
• Significant ICT Infrastructure configuration, management, and monitoring tools experience • Demonstrated expertise in hardware configuration tools • An understanding of Configuration Management and Change Management Special Requirements: Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current or re-instatable NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
