Since their earliest days, they have understood that their success depends on sustaining the health of the fields and the communities in which they operate around the globe.The roleReporting to the Group Head of Sustainability, this role will be responsible for managing and supporting the SunRice Group to achieve their environmental ambitions and will play a critical role in supporting the business to understand the risks, set the strategy and implement mechanisms to address biodiversity, deforestation, climate risk and more.Additional responsibilities include:Provide stewardship of key environmental risks and opportunities by monitoring changes in legislation, regulation, and stakeholder expectations.Provide leadership and technical support to the Net Zero Manager, as they project manage the business to deliver the initiatives within the Net Zero Roadmap.Supporting the business to deliver the activities stipulated within the Net Zero Roadmap, the Packaging Working Group Plan and broader Sustainability Strategy through developing governance systems to engage with the business to deliver the initiatives.Oversee embedment of the Net Zero Roadmap, Packaging Working Group Plan and other sustainability initiatives into business unit processes, including by costing the initiatives and having them incorporated into budgets.Provide environmental technical skills, particularly as it related to carbon, deforestation, biodiversity and packaging.With the Group Head of Sustainability, engage with the CMT (executive team) and, where required, the Board on relevant matters.Providing technical expertise on environmental risks and other considerations during M&A activity.Provide capacity development opportunities for the business to understand the requirements to meet net zero by 2050, new packaging legislation and other new sustainability requirements including biodiversity, deforestation-free supply chains and reporting obligations.About youAs an experienced Senior Sustainability Manager with an in-house or consulting background, you bring exceptional project management experience and a proven track record of delivering environmental sustainability related process improvements within an organisation, including influencing and engaging cross-functional and cross-business stakeholders.You thrive working in a fast-paced environment and are strategically minded with a positive can-do approach to delivering on multiple projects and priorities.Known for being collaborative and proactive, you demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate complex and technical data in a clear and concise manner.In addition, you will possess the following:Technical competence in initiatives to transition to net zero, including operational energy efficiency, renewable electricity, transport and distribution and agricultural value chain emissions.Sound understanding of the climate change policy landscape in Australia, and ideally and understanding of the policy landscape across Asia.Broad understanding of sustainability trends and data, including across the areas of biodiversity, human rights, responsible sourcing, and community.The rewardsThis opportunity offers the successful candidate an opportunity to work alongside a highly regarded and action-orientated Sustainability leader and surrounding team.
