Leadership role in an innovative, research focused biomedical laboratoryFull-time (35 hours week) | 2-year fixed term contract$106,350 – 115,103+ 17% super + leave loadingReporting to the Senior Operations Manager IASB, you will have primary responsibility for managing a PC2 lab wet lab facility. This includes managing operations and actively contributing to the development and implementation of practices and procedures to support the research activities of the new multi-user facility. You'll also contribute to the overall operations of the IASB laboratories, including general laboratory housekeeping, waste management, user inductions, training, supervision and stakeholder engagement.

Management experience in a biomedical lab environment and an understanding and implement the requirements around laboratory operations including AS2243.1 and OGTR certification.Working with a range of computer systems and applications, such as Laboratory Information Management Systems and WHS Management Systems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.Sound influencing and consultation skills and proven ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.Ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.To apply: If supporting research in a new PC2 laboratory is of interest to you, please submit your CV and Cover Letter, addressing the Skills and Experience required in the Position Description.
