We're changing the way Australia generates its energy, are you ready for a change? The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032.
This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North-West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.
The project scope includes:
500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isaup to six new substation sites.A FIFO position on a 15/6 roster. The Role Are you an experienced Senior Surveyor looking to take your career to the next level?
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of our project.
You will be responsible for providing accurate, timely, and responsive surveying services across multiple areas.
The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing and conducting advanced survey tasks as well as overseeing the daily activities of a survey team.
What will a day in this role look like: Contribute to the successful delivery of the project, through delivering accurate, timely and responsive surveying services for each project area by:
Ensuring high accuracy control networks are maintained throughout the project.Checking and validating the geometry and dimensions of design and the early identification of potential design faults.Lead and mentor juniors with a strong team ethic.Collecting, analysing and collating survey data.Survey set out and conformance to the required specifications.Update designs and machine control models.Conduct drone surveys and produce high quality, accurate 3D point clouds for progress.Advising the Survey Manager of any survey issues arising on site.Determining quantities, where required for progress claims.Ensuring equipment is serviced and calibrated according to manufacturer's recommendations.Conducting conformance checks and producing verification reports.Planning and scheduling own work to meet required timelines and outputs.What are we looking for you to bring to the team: Minimum 3 years' experience in similar role within the mining, energy, or civil construction industry.Proficient in 12D and Trimble Business Centre.Experienced with Trimble GNSS and Robotic Total Stations including Trimble Access.Machine Control experience with Trimble and Topcon.Geodetic survey control adjustment capabilities.RPAS ticket and UAV experience desirable.Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and SharePoint.Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple sites simultaneously.Passion for culture, dealing with stakeholders and supporting initiatives.Excellent relationship building, problem solving, negotiation and leadership skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills, showcasing initiative and high attention to detail.Excellent time management skills and works well under pressure.If you are driven by delivering high-quality surveying services and enjoy leading a team while meeting critical project timelines, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity.
