Our Client is a Cairns based Government Department focused on infrastructure of QLD.The OpportunityPerform on-site WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) inspections, including checks on plant and equipment.Ensure all job documentation includes a safe work method statement or other risk assessment documents as needed.Promote and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.Regularly inspect sites where mechanical workers perform construction, minor, and responsive works to ensure compliance with relevant laws, standards, and quality requirements.Monitor, review, escalate, and investigate mechanical safety incidents, breaches, risks, concerns, and feedback/complaints according to relevant procedures.Produce high-quality tender and quotation documents for electrical projects and prepare accurate estimates, quotations, and project trade packages, including material lists and construction schedules.Deliver high-quality condition assessment services for clients, including building inspections/surveys and collecting samples of suspected asbestos-containing materials for lab testing.Provide technical support and supervision for small air-conditioning/refrigeration system installations in the region.Conduct WHS, mechanical, and electrical safety and workmanship audits of field staff and contractors, and review findings for compliance with standards, legislation, and systems.Supervise and monitor the use of risk assessment tools, the recording of mechanical and electrical test results, and the issuing of certificates of test as required by law.Assist in monitoring and recording the region's refrigerant usage and reclaim, filing this information for ARCTICK audit.Help monitor refrigerant handling equipment and update the register on the Australian Refrigeration Council site as needed.About YouMust be a local resident in the Cairns area or a reasonable commuting distance.This role is not a FIFO.Previous senior construction industry related trade qualification (highly desirable).Current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card.To ApplyApplications in Word format should be forwarded to us by clicking the 'Apply' button below.
