Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Subcontracts / Contracts Specialist to join our Operations business in Australia & Asia Pacific West (APAC WEST). This is an opportunity to join our expanding Operations team, as part of our strategic growth plan for 2024 and beyond. Based in Perth CBD, this is a short-term requirement and is available on a full-time / part-time (job share) basis.
Wood "Operations" delivers Brownfield's engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the Energy industry. Wood enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent Energy and LNG producers with operations in Western Australia, Northern Territory, and Southeast Asia.

Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, you will step up and into a dedicated client contract team. You will be responsible for the execution of specific aspects of (sub)contract development and execution and, where applicable, guidance of junior Subcontract Specialists / Associates.
With limited supervision, at a high level, the role objectives are:
Analyse and interpret contract templates and T&Cs, and as appropriate to the work being executed, provide clarity and guidance to Project Management and execution teams. Draft tendering and contract documentation, in accordance with Wood and our Clients' requirements. Manage the full tendering process and complete comprehensive commercial evaluations across a variety of key contracts. Review and draft high-quality responses to contractual/commercial qualifications as appropriate for the proposed Work and remuneration mode(s) being negotiated. Apply superior commercial acumen, aimed at maximising value and minimising risk, both for Wood and our Clients. Manage the application of relevant Wood and Client policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all statutory/legal requirements and procedures and that all actions are fully auditable. Regularly monitor and report on the progress of activities for which you are responsible. Escalate any critical issues and risks to Senior Management. Drive the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. You will bring to life Wood's three-pillar strategy of Inspired Culture, Delivery Excellence, and Profitable Growth on the project. Ideally, you will hold a degree or equivalent professional qualifications in Commerce, Supply Chain / Logistics from a recognised institution, have RICS qualification or industry equivalent, and have a minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Heavy Industrial sectors of the Construction industry.
You will also possess the following attributes:
Demonstrated experience in industry best practices supply chain principles and techniques. Good experience with related software and systems (i.e., ERM, SAP). Be customer-focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.
