Position Objectives To provide a strategic and coordinated response to renewable energy and transmission projects within the Shire. This involves engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including state government and developers, providing communication and advocacy for council.
Key Responsibility Areas Provide advice to Councillors, the Executive Leadership Team, and other levels of government with respect to renewable energy and transmission projects, policy and plans. Work collaboratively across Council to provide coordinate a strategic response to renewable energy and transmission projects and policy. Engage with key external stakeholders such as Government Departments and agencies, developers, and the community. Maintain regular communication to Councillors, the Executive Leadership Team and the community. Monitor and support Council in seeking available funding opportunities related to renewable energy transmission. Support Council's advocacy on renewable energy and transmission projects and policy. Assist with Council's responsible authority requirements associated with approved renewable projects. Undertake, as directed, additional duties within the incumbent's skill, competence, and training limits. Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualification in Planning or related discipline (e.g. engineering, environment, etc). Experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects.
