Senior Strategic Planner - Eastern SuburbsThis Eastern Suburbs Council is seeking a Senior Strategic Planner with leadership skills and a passion for community and public space. The right person will have excellent communication, collaboration skills and be an overall people person. You will be a confident individual, experienced in stakeholder management and have an extensive understanding of all development sectors.An exciting opportunity to work in one of Australia's most beautiful suburbs on waterfront pedestrian zones, commercial developments, public and open spaces, sporting and recreation, urban precincts and streetscapes.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical assistance and advice on strategic planning matters to senior management, stakeholders, developers and the community.A sound working knowledge of, and/or experience in, the implementation of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 and the NSW Local Government Act 1993.Ability to manage complex projects, including the management of consultants, to achieve goals and meet deadlines in a consultative manner.Demonstrated ability to think strategically, holistically and creatively when working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects.Preparation of written documents, guidelines, proposals, and submissions.Work across various community groups and stakeholders.Skills and ExperienceTertiary qualification in Urban or Town Planning.Significant project leadership experience.Community engagement meetings & management.Proactive self-starter with interest in the industry.Attention to detail and delivery of quality documents and communication.High level written and verbal communication skills.The ability to work autonomously and within a team.Great organizational and time management skills.Benefits and CultureBrand new Eastern Suburbs office.A lively, social work culture with regular events and team activities.Option for 9 day fortnight.2 days WFH.If the above position appeals to you then please submit your CV and work samples (no more than 10mb PDF attachment) to ****** and we'll be in touch.
