The Role The family-owned station is used as a breeding depot for over 2,000 Santa x Droughtmaster cows across 35,000 acres. There is an opportunity for an experienced station stockman to join the permanent team and work directly with the current Station Manager. This opportunity also has the potential for two days of part-time work for a partner with a green thumb.
The successful candidate will have strong stockmanship and the ability to confidently conduct all mustering on horseback and undertake animal husbandry tasks including castration and dehorning. As with most station roles, you will be involved in all aspects of the station including repair and maintenance of machinery and general infrastructure, with knowledge and experience in water infrastructure - predominantly float and poly, particularly valuable.
All employees are involved in the extensive infrastructure programme that is currently being undertaken across all aspects of the station including roads, yards, houses, vegetation clearing and fencing making mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills desirable.
The Offer This role is suitable for families or singles with various types of accommodation available to suit the successful candidate's requirements. An attractive salary will also be negotiated for the role in addition to a Landcruiser ute and fuel for work purposes, utility allowance and meat provisions when available.
Located just 15 minutes from Bauhinia, the larger centre of Moura is within an hour's drive where you are within reach of all amenities, partner employment opportunities and various schooling options, with school bus access at the station gate.
The Ideal Candidate This role is suited to an experienced stockman who is willing to take guidance and knowledge from the existing management team to learn how to be a leader and station manager of the future whilst having the following attributes:
