Opportunity knocks but once, and this is a rare chance for a stock-focused couple to join a close-knit team on a quality regenerative cattle operation near Dulacca in Queensland's Western Downs. Covering 14,000 acres, the family utilises regenerative practices to background and finish cattle; trucking finished cattle fortnightly for processing. The meat is then distributed on the wholesale market under the banner of the family's beef brand.
Extensive fencing and water reticulation have been completed to allow cell grazing of contemporary weight mobs of 150-180 head. Data is a key element of the business, utilising AgriWebb and consulting with Cibo Labs to assist in analysis. Mobs are being weighed and re-drafted on a weekly basis; this is all made easier with quality yards and infrastructure, including a Clipex auto draft. Inductions for incoming stock are conducted weekly, with all stock being educated on horses and dogs before entering the program.
Animal health and nutrition are fundamental to the business ethos, mixing specific rations by processing purchased raw materials through the on-farm automated mill, which are then utilised in the on-farm feeding program.
