Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist (Geriatric Medicine)Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland, providing integrated cancer care services in a newly established building with state-of-the-art medical equipment. The other primary hospitals within the health service are Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon, and Biloela, along with many smaller rural units that transfer patients to Rockhampton for specialist care and investigation.

The Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist, Geriatric Medicine will:
Contribute to the full scope of geriatric services including Acute, Subacute, Community, Outpatient, and Interim Care. This includes managing complex behavioral patients, providing consultation services across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS), leading complex patient journey/discharge planning activities, and participating in the Orthogeriatric service.Support academic, research, education, training, and supervision roles.Contribute to continuous quality and safety improvement activities across CQ Health and instigate appropriate risk mitigation actions when required.About you:Mandatory qualification/s: Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist Physician – Geriatric Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA).Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) in the specialty of Geriatric Medicine is required specialist qualification; however, applicants with equivalent overseas qualifications assessed as substantially comparable by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians may also be considered.Enrolment and maintenance of an ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies.The appointee will be required to undergo a credentialing process and will be granted appropriate scope of clinical practice. There is a system of review and renewal of credentials and privileges for Senior Medical Staff, reviewed on a five-yearly basis. Qualifications will determine appointment levels.What we offer:Salary information: Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. is comprised of:
A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24)A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a.
